College Africa provides you with a free portal at yourportalname.college.africa. If you own a custom domain such as mycompany.com, you can use this domain or a subdomain such as learn.mycompany.com for your portal instead.

In this guide we will show you how you can configure your custom domain to point to College Africa

1. Configure your College Africa domain

If you used your custom domain as your portal's domain during setup, you can skip to the next step. If not, contact our team with the domain you would like to use for your portal.

2. Update your DNS service

  1. Login to your domain provider (e.g., GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare, Google Domains, etc.).
  2. Navigate to the DNS Management or DNS Settings section for your domain (e.g., mycompany.com).
  3. Based on your scenario, follow one of the instructions below:

2.1 Configure a subdomain such as learn.mycompany.com

Create a new CNAME record with the following details:
Type: CNAME
Name: learn (or your preferred subdomain)
Value: cname.college.africa
TTL: (default value is fine)

Save the settings

2.2 Configure the root domain such as mycompany.com

  1. Find the DNS record for your main domain. This will be @ or mycompany depending on your provider
  2. Update the type to CNAME
  3. Set the value to cname.college.africa
If your provider does not support CNAME type for the root record, contact us for the IP addresses to use.
